All CGS-ES courses are aligned with the Ontario curriculum and include comprehensive lessons, assessments, interactive and hands-on activities, and videos. The independent option is for families and students who want to register for a course and work independently and at their own pace.
Our CGS teacher answers content questions and grades assessments. All content is accessed through our learning management system – Edsby. In addition to providing unique, differentiated course materials, CGS-ES is here to support you and your child. Reach out at any time with questions, and your teacher will respond swiftly.
Who might benefit from our Independent self-paced courses?
This flexibility also allows students with different learning styles to use their accommodations limited by regular day school schedules.
We also have families that choose to home-school their children. Families may choose to use our courses to add to their personal homeschooling program. CGS-ES courses include interactive lessons, curriculum content, and interactive content that a teacher facilitator needs to deliver an excellent program that meets and exceeds the Ministry of Education Elementary curriculum expectations. Visit our Homeschooling page to learn more about homeschooling in Ontario.
We also have families that would like to supplement their child’s day school learning. Students may use CGS-ES courses while also attending a day school. Students may use their CGS-ES course for enriched content beyond what is taught in their day school classroom, as a way to review curriculum from previous grades, or for additional practice with the curriculum outside of what is being taught in their physical classroom.
