Differentiated Instructional Approach

Canadian Global School  is committed to promoting and accomplishing a differentiated learning environment, focusing on personalized education for elementary and high school programs. We offer well-curated courses to heighten innovation in education, and we deliver a learning environment that is focusing on constant expansion and provides the expertise and skills for our students.

Canadian Global School’s Evolving Approach To Education

The real world is complex and theoretical knowledge is not sufficient. Students need qualified teachers to help them explore new skills and find answers to be prepared for our always-changing world. Having collaborative and creative problem-solving in the classroom has its limits. It can be often restrained by curriculum development.

However, Canadian Global School  is improving the classic pathway of education to invest in the development of integrated solutions to advance pedagogy and knowledge, allowing the next cohort of students to become independent, strategic and successful learners.

The Canadian Global School Program is part of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), and our well-developed curriculum, joined with our differentiated Approach to Learning, includes the fundamental resources required to guide our teachers into international partner schools. Our curriculum provides the tools and support necessary for our students to reach their optimal level of challenge for learning in a constantly changing world.

Our Differentiated Approach to Learning follows the Growing Success model of Assessment & Evaluation which includes: Learning skills and work habits, Making connections with Real-World issues, Personalized teaching style and evaluation, customized pathways and world life skills. We provide high-quality educational content to support our international partner schools to execute our program efficiently while welcoming their local expertise in education. This approach helps transform our students and encourages the “development of learning skills and work habits needed to succeed in school and in life begins early in a child’s schooling. As students move through the grades, they develop and then consolidate their learning skills and work habits in preparation for postsecondary education and the world of work.” (Growing Success, 2010)

Learning skills and work habits

The development of learning skills and work habits is an integral part of each students’ learning. The Key Learning Skills and Work Habits evaluated and reported on include: responsibility, organization, independent work, collaboration, initiative and self-regulation. Individuals who use learning skills and work habits can develop synthesis and analytical skills, and evaluate complex data and use this knowledge to solve queries, generate creative approaches, show insightful argumentation, and assess overall ideas. This encourages critical thinking and helps face the future.

Course Curriculum and Educational Process

Canadian Global School  has created a well-crafted program with a strong emphasis on Key Learning Skills and Work Habits development. The effective instruction and meaningful assessments are strategically designed to support goals that promote problem-solving, decision-making, critical and creative thinking.

Assessments & Evaluation of student performance

Canadian Global School  courses include evaluations that allow for the Key Learning Skills and Work Habits to be measured, recorded and reported for each student across various subjects during their learnings.

Teacher Instructional Resources

Canadian Global School  provides detailed course lessons that identify which Key Learning Skills and Work Habits are being developed at each stage of a course. Furthermore, lesson plans are developed to outline activities and instructional strategies that foster the growth of these skills, such as interactive prompts, discussion posts, and giving constructive feedback.

When making connections with real-world issues, individuals acquire rich, in-depth subject knowledge and use thinking skills practically.

At Canadian Global School, connections with real-world issues are integrated into all courses of study, allowing students to unite their learning in different subjects, and student-centred thinking and innovation methodologies.
